Information on How to Build a Quality Email List

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

When building your list and keeping highly responsive subscribers to stay joined to your list, quality matters, not so much quantity. Quality matters because it is quality information that keeps your subscribers constantly wanting more of your information or products.

Quality leads are important because it does not matter how many subscribers you have if they’re not purchasing your products. Therefore, if your subscribers are not buying what you have to offer then what is the purpose of having a list in the first place.

Therefore, when attempting to list build, it would be wise to concentrate your efforts on long tail keyword phrases opposed to general keywords. This will allow you to fill your list with targeted prospects for your offers. This will increase your chances to make a sale because you’ll be giving subscribers exactly what they want.

When it comes to a successful online business, list building is not the only thing you should focus on. List building is just a means to the end. In the end, the objective is to keep your audience captive so that you could deliver quality information to them over time, while you encourage them to buy your product. Doing this will build trust between you and your subscribers. It is hard for people to give up their hard-earned money to someone they do not trust.

Giving subscribers information that is of value to them is the key to creating and maintaining an effective opt in list. The best way to put this plan into action is to send out a weekly, biweekly, or monthly newsletter. A newsletter is a publication that is sent out to subscribers that have given you permission to send them information on a certain topic.

The first thing to do is to set up a mailing list so that you can build up a database of potential customers’ email addresses. The purpose of this mailing list is to give your visitors the opportunity to submit their information, which will subscribe them to your list.

Setting up a mailing list is not hard at all; they’re plenty of free services that will allow you to set one up. However, I do not recommend you go down that road. Many of the free services do not give you the ability to personalize your messages with your subscribers’ names.

There are many great ways to build your list. Here are a few of the best:

Try to build your list on the customers’ needs.

Focusing on the needs of a business’ potential customers is the backbone of good marketing.

Try to ascertain what your subscribers want from you.

Find out why they need your product or services.

Find out what makes them want to buy from you.

When it comes to list building do not fall into the trap of just marketing your products to your list. You should spend a lot more time trying to identify the needs of your customers and working towards fulfilling those needs.

Auto Responders: How Do They Work?

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

If you’re serious about building a solid, long term business on the Internet, then you should probably listen to what the gurus have been saying for ages – “The Money Is In The List”.

The subscriber list, that is. But how do you build a big list of subscribers and send them your latest business offers, without having to buy bulk email leads and become a spammer?

The answer to that problem is using autoresponders. On our site we have many reviews of autoresponders, including review of Aweber, GetResponse email autoresponder review and reviews of autoresponder by 1ShoppingCart. We also do a full autoresponder comparison so you can choose the one that the cheapest.

Still, lets take a look at the basic questions first. What is an autoresponder, and how does it work?

It anages your email list and lets you send automatic responses

You create the first email as well as follow-ups. New optins automatically get your predefined messages until the end of the queue.

Like I said, it rocks? But that’s not the whole story here.

Besides that, personalization of emails is another benefit.

There are basically three types of autoresponders – hosted autoresponders, autoresponder scripts, and desktop autoresponders. They are not the same at all in terms of how they work. Choose one that fits into your marketing plan and budget.

A word of caution though  if you plan to use an autoresponder script to send emails, make sure you have the correct autoresponder web host account or risk losing a lot of data.

So go and get yourself an autoresponder today. You can spend money on a lot of other stuff this year and it won’t get close to the value you’ll from your own autoresponder.

Targeted Email Lists – Make Money With Targeted Email Lists

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

The best way to make money online is with targeted email lists. You have no doubt heard it said that the “money is in the list.” Perhaps one of the most significant advantages to email marketing is the ability to reach a worldwide audience with minimal effort. Another major advantage to email marketing is it is extremely affordable.

Firstly, you need to get people to your site or opt in page so they can join your list and give you permission to begin mailing to them. Obviously, it provides no value to you if you have a great opt-in in place and no one knows about it. Therefore the most important thing you should be doing right now is sending prospects to your opt-in page and building targeted email lists of prospects who are interested in what you have to offer.

You will benefit far more from prospects that join your email list (instead of sending them to an affiliate link or whatever) because you will have repeated opportunities in the future to present your offers to them.

Everything you do must work towards building a list. You have to have that mindset as you are growing your business. If your prospect showed interest and took the time to sign up to your list then they are much more likely to be targeted future buyers.

Do not bombard your subscribers with offer after offer! As you build your list each email or newsletter you send to your subscribers should contain valuable information in addition to the occasional soft sell for your products or services.

If you are serious about making money online, especially if you are looking at making a full time income, then your own targeted opt-in email lists are the single most valuable assets you will ever own, no matter what marketing you are into. Period!

How to best use your autoresponder for your email marketing campaigns.

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Studies show a potential visitor will take seven to nine messages before s/he becomes comfortable with you and eventually contacts or preferably buys your products or services. If you are left with only one marketing tool, what would you retain? Most marketers would say autoresponders or their email list. This tells you how serious you should treat your email marketing effort AND your autoresponder tool.

What is an autoresponder? An email autoresponder allows you to follow up your potential customers at a predefined timeframe automatically through emails. You may acquire this functionality by installing a script on your webhosting or you can acquire this function through third party autoresponder service providers Is your email autoresponder working as effectively as designed? What criteria should you consider when it comes to picking an email autoResponder? What is the single most important criteria when choosing your autoresponder service?

Three criteria you should consider before you invest your hard-earned cash in this vital marketing tool. A great deliverability is the most sought-after feature of any email autoresponder. Any internet user would receive tons of SPAM mails in their mail-box each day. If you use Gmail, you should be familiar with the screen shot below. There are 2808 spam emails in my Gmail account as at the time of writing. I will never read these emails. If you use some poor autoresponder service, your emails will automatically be streamed into these SPAM folders. You may ask, “What determines which email go to “SPAM” folder?” Unless you are gmail.com, you don’t know their “way of thinking”.

But definitedly you don’t want to be the one who emails the optins to their SPAM folder. But what is the main cause for your emails not being able to reach your targetted prospects or subscribers? There are many reasons why it is the case, but by far the most important reason is this: Is your autoresponder a self hosted script OR third party autoresponder service? As mentioned, you acquire your autoresponder function either by the script you hosted on your website or you may build your list and your autoresponder through a third party service provider. The mission of a third party autoresponder service providers is to deliver your emails. Why do I not recommend a self-hosted script which you can install onto your webhost?

The reason is one word: “SPAM”. Some of your subscribers will report you as SPAM, no matter how diligent and sincere you are with your email marketing campaigns. People just forget they sign up on your list. They will report your emails as SPAMs some day down the road. It’s just a matter of “when”, not “If”. When subscribers report your emails as spams, their internet service provider (ISP) may blacklist your future emails. This blocks your emails getting into their inbox in the future. I have previously used a hosted service, which had good results initially (for about 6 months). After a few of my ex-subscribers complaint me spamming them, my emails are not as effective as before. Treat email autoresponders service companies eat and breath on deliverability.

They ensure your emails get delivered. Some autoresponder service us claiming that it delivers 99.34%, meaning it their readers get 99 emails out of 100 emails! There are some free autoresponder services out there. I urge you not to waste your time finding or even trying one. Why? I have used those services and only found myself promoting someone!|s else services. Those free services basically send out your emails with their own embedded advertising. Your readers will read their ads first before your messages. If you are not serious about your business, use free autoresponsers. Price should be the least concern, as autoresponder is your lifeblood of your viral traffic. Usually a quality autoresponder costs around $20 a month.

My Top 3 Affiliate Marketing Tips

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

What I am about to reveal will probably not make some fellow gurus happy, but this needs to be said:

- No matter what they say about affiliate marketing, it’s virtually impossible for everyone to get those 5,000 – 10,000 dollars a month they are raving on about. The reason? There is simply too much competition! However my fellow gurus are correct on one point: No money will fall into your hands if you are not doing anything to get it there…

I decided to help you get started in the right state of mind, by giving you these high level tips below, that will help you make some money with the different kinds of affiliate marketing programs you can find on the internet.

1. Google Adwords

Some say the days of free traffic are over, but there are still some traffic coming that way, however those hits are surely fading away quickly. You can choose to work hard creating web pages that rank well in the search engines, but still – it’s very hard to do. If you still feel like trying, there are lots of Search Engine Optimization Guides available for you to download, both paid and free.

Simply by paying for clicks with Google (it’s called the Adwords program), you can get the top three positions on the search engines that matter the most – in a matter of minutes. It may come as no surprise to you that there are lots of guides available on how to optimize your google adwords campaigns as well! Did you know that the “engine” that drives some of the traffic is called Adsense? The adsense program allows website owners to put ads on their sites, and when the ads are clicked – the site owner just made some cents online. Most Google Adwords Guides recommend turning off that part of the campaign, due to the click fraud involved, which will give you bad quality, non converting traffic.

2. Your own email list

Building an email list of subscribers is hard, but doable. The task of sending offers to your very own email list is the ideal way to build a residual income online. Instead of sending traffic away and hoping for the best, the best alternative for you (in my opinion) is having your own email list to which you will be able to send multiple offers on periodic intervals. There are lots of autoresponder services that you can subscribe to, and if you feel like having total control, there are several Autoresponder Scripts available for purchase as well.

3. Having Your own affiliate program

Did you know that the gurus are aware of the fact that every visitor that fills out form on your site can generate 50 cent in revenue? What about if you pay someone 25 cents (50% commission) to generate that same amount of traffic, that you would otherwise pay Google to get?

This is the secret most newbies don’t know (and that the gurus don’t want you to know about): Let others generate the traffic you need to make some sales! There are a lot of advantages using this approach, including the fact that now others pay Google to get the traffic for you.

Final Words:

Yes, when it all comes down to it, everything involves paying for traffic in one way or the other. Just remember – in order to make the online income you dream about, you’ll need to invest very wisely in the different kinds of advertising available to you.

To Your Success,
